Hey Garage Peeps!
I hope and pray that you are all having great weeks. The blog post this week will be on idolatry and the false sense of security THINGS bring to us. If you have a journal or a piece of paper, take some time to write down thoughts or prayers that are on your heart. Our hope for you is that God gives you discernment to understand the things in your life that are keeping from a genuine relationship with Him--not some fabricated materialistic reality where THINGS rule over.
An idol, put in the words of John Ortberg is,"something that becomes more important to you than God". If I were to write down throughout the day things that are really "important" to me, at a certain point, I would recognize that THINGS overwhelmingly take over. Being the sinner that I am, I try and justify in my head that my priority above all else is my relationship with God. However, written down on a piece of paper, the reality is that my priorities are very mixed up.
Being honest with yourself, what are some idols in your life that are before God?
Idols eventually run out. Why do we desire idols over an omnipotent loving God?
